Heathrow airport is one of the world's busiest international airports, with excellent passenger facilities, including many restaurants, fast food outlets, shops and large duty-free outlets. Getting into London from Heathrow couldn't be easier, as the airport is only 12 miles / 19 km east of the city. The new Heathrow Express trains take about 15 minutes to reach Paddington station, with one station serving Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and another serving Terminal 4.
A much cheaper way of getting into London is on the Picadilly line, which connects the airport to numerous stations across central London. If you intend to spend the rest of your arrival day sightseeing, consider buying a multi-zone, one-day travelcard, which will save you money. There are also 'airbuses' which run from outside all four Heathrow terminals to several key destinations in the city and can be a useful way to travel if you have a lot of luggage. If you wish to rent a car, there are many well-known car rental companies represented at the airport.

There are other cheaper services, but these do not depart as regularly and make stops on the way.
